Photographer Research- Brassai

Brassai took his name from the town of his birth, Brasso, in Transylvania. He studied art at the academies of Budapest and Berlin before coming to Paris in the mid-twenties. He was completely disinterested in photography, until he saw the work being done by his acquaintance Andre Kertesz, which inspired him to take up the medium himself. In the early thirties he started taking photos in the night of Paris.
He used a small plate camera on a tripod to take his night images in Paris and opened the shutter when ready, and fired a flashbulb to create the pictures of the series.

I really like the lighting of Brassai's images and how the lighting of them creates a certain mood. I also like the composition of all the images and how theres a certain focus in each image.
