The City

For this city brief I am going to focus on graffiti in the city. I think that graffiti is a very important part of the city because you will not find a city in the world without it. I thought i'd look into what graffiti meant and I found out that 'it ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings, and has existed since ancient times, with examples dating back to Ancient Greece and the Roman Empire. Graffiti may also express underlying social and political messages and a whole genre of artistic expression is based upon spray paint graffiti styles. Gangs use there own form of graffiti to mark territory or to serve as an indicator of gang related activities.' 

Most people who graffiti feel that what they are creating is very personal to them and sometimes will make other people feel something for what they have created. Some people think that graffiti is awful and should be got rid of but to some people they feel like it is a work of art and has a meaning and is just that person expressing there self. I think that all graffiti does have some meaning to it no matter what it is or the person wouldn't have done it, wether its a word picture or sometimes people use stickers to either promote things or for themselves but I feel that everything does have some sort of meaning behind it to either show the rest of the world or for themselves.
